Private Lessons

Private lessons at Solid State Hockey are designed for every age and level of player. We have both small group and individual lessons depending upon your situation. Our coaches and instructors are the best in the area, have all played at the college level and, are all certified with USA Hockey as level 4 coaches.

Ice hockey is a team sport. True. There is much to be gleaned from just being out there and playing with other kids on the ice. However, private lessons and private coaching can make an immeasurable difference to the growing hockey player. Private lessons can make an average hockey player good and the good player, great. We spend quality time with each student, coaching the fundamentals, and working with them to improve upon their technique.

If you are a novice skater/player — even if you’ve never set foot on the ice a day in your life, we can help get you involved in one of the greatest sports in the world today! Nothing beats the feel of the ice beneath your feet. #SumOfTheDetails

Power Skating - Fitchburg, MA

Jessica grew up in a hockey rink from a young age with her father and brother playing hockey. Her dad played until he was in his 70's and her brother still plays and coaches hockey. After being at the rink so often as a child, Jess decided to become a figure skater! She started skating when she was seven and hasn't stopped yet! Jess competitively skated for about 12 years before going to college and then began her coaching journey shortly after. Growing up, Jess was part of a nationally and internationally competitive synchronized skating team from 1989 through 1995. She was lucky enough to compete all over the United States, including Alaska, Texas, Georgia, and all along the East Coast. She was also able to compete internationally in London, France and Canada with her team.

Jess has been a figure skating coach since around 1997 and has coached all ages; primarily figure skating but has added in hockey edge and skill work for hockey players. While coaching, she decided to get back into competitive skating. Her first year back as an adult was in 2004. Jess joined an adult synchronized skating team and has competed in eight National events, winning three National titles! She is heading into another competitive season this September and can’t wait!

Jess also dabbled in playing hockey for the first time this past year in a women's hockey league and loved it! Boy, really good hockey players make it look easy!! It is a hard sport but so much fun! Jessica has two kids, both who play hockey. Her daughter plays recreationally and her son plays for his high school and local travel team.

Jess looks forward to working with your skaters on edges, speed, and skating skills!
