ABOUT THE SOLID STATE PREP LEAGUE
The Solid State Prep League was founded in 2025 due to the lack of Development First summer hockey leagues for high and prep school players based in central Massachusetts. Up until this point, only casual summer leagues or weekend tournaments existed. The SSPL aims to fill a hole in development for players looking to advanced their skills during the summer off season.
In 2026 an ALL GIRLS division was established offering the same level of development.
The league consists of once a week practices followed by a 4v4 game format. Teams are rostered small to maximize reps. Games are fast paced with minimal whistles and jailbreak penalty shots.
Practice and game jerseys are provided as well as full media coverage all summer season.
This is not a casual league and is INVITE only! #PREP

League Mission Statement
The Solid State Summer Prep League (SSPL) is to provide a premier competitive platform for U19 hockey players in Central Massachusetts. Our goal is to foster the growth and development of elite players while exposing them to some of the region’s top coaches and scouts. Through this experience, players will gain invaluable insights, helping them navigate the next steps in their hockey journey.
The SSPL emphasizes not only skill development but also leadership, teamwork, and athletic discipline. We are committed to promoting core values such as fitness, strength, nutrition, and mental toughness, preparing athletes for success both on and off the ice.

Prep League - 2026 - Women's
Get ready for a high-energy summer packed with development and competition. The Girls Solid State prep league plays twice a week. Monday practices and 12 Tuesday games keep players consistently improving, while fast-paced 4v4 gameplay maximizes touches and decision-making. The evening schedule makes it easy to fit into busy summer days, and the round-robin playoffs build toward an exciting championship finish. Plus, gain valuable insight and exposure from PREP and NCAA guest coaches throughout the program. 18 hours of ice time!
